If a doctor gets amnesia, is his/her medical liscence revoked immediately?

True amnesia is so rare that it has never happened. If it did happen, I imagine the license would be revoked due to incompetence but that would not be immediate. There would first be a petition and a hearing. A degree, unlike a license, cannot be revoked.
