Temperament of a thoroughbred. Is a thoroughbred right for me?

The temperament of a TB really varies from horse to horse. Some OTTBs need months of just being in a pasture to get use to life as a riding horse and some you could take on a trail ride as soon as you get them. It really just depends on the horse. But if you really think this horse will be a good match for you and you have trained horses before then I say go for it. Don't let the fact that he is a ex-racehorse stop you from getting him and don't listen to the people that say "Thoroughbreds are crazy, hot blooded, and high strung" because they don't know what they are talking about. I have a 6 year old OTTB and when I got him I didn't even know how to ride and he had only been off the track for about 5 months. Everyone thought I was going to get myself killed but it turned out that he was the perfect horse for me. He's actually very laid back, docile, and sometimes lazy. He has his moments when he acts like a young, green Thoroughbred but for the most part he's been a great horse for me to learn to ride on. And I know many people that have had similar experiences where they got an OTTB that was sound, sane, and ready to hit the trails soon after they brought him or her home. However I'm not saying all OTTBs are this calm because there are some that are very high strung I'm just saying that many of them are not.

I have 4 beautiful children, aged between 7 & 3, but unfortunately each of them was born by c-section and born in quick succession of each other (14 months between first 2, 11 months between the 2nd and 3rd and under 2 years between the 3rd and 4th). Each time I gained weight and never lost it again. I'm now left 5 dress sizes too big and I just can't shift it. I don't eat particularly loads (although I probably eat alot of the wrong things) I have joined a gym but because I'm so unfit I find I'm exhausted after only 10minutes on the bike and can only manage 6minutes of walking on the treadmill and I just feel like I'm not acheiving anything. I also have polycystic ovaries syndrome and I'm told that this makes it harder to loose weight, but also increases the chances of serious health problems if I don't (a visious circle) I'm so, so fed up and depressed with being fat, but despite how hard I try I just can't do it. Can anyone help? Please, please please?

Well at least you got to vent to someone. I wouldn't stress it too much. Yea things aren't going the greatest, but at least you're not quiting. There are a lot of people out there in your position and there are a lot of people who have it far worse. A lot of people cannot even afford to go to college or were unable to finish high school because of whatever reason. Just try to find the bright side of things and look forward to the future.

I would suggest speaking to her again - or make sure a window is open when she is smoking. I am a smoker too - and of corse i sometimes smoke inside - alot of the time I can never smell it but my non smoker friends and family can and i dont want them to have to put up with the stale stench so I burn Vanilla insense atleast 2-4 min sticks a day plus when ever we are home I open all the windows and air out my house - i never get any complaints.

She might be pregnant she might be lying, either way you'll know in 9 months. Baby or not if you don't want to be with her don't. You should consider severing ties with her because from what you said the only thing she is interested in is getting you back. You can't have a decent friendship like that. What she does with the baby is her decision and you can't do anything about it so don't waste your energy being angry she won't abort. It is difficult to describe what a woman has to go through physically and emotionally when they abort. It really isn't worth it. If she does have a baby don't pay her a dime of child support without a DNA test. My brother dated this psychotic girl once who moved out of state then called us to tell us she was pregnant. She moved back and sued my brother for child support. The court systems will put it through based on the word of the mother you have to ask them to give you a DNA test to stop the child support. I told my brother the same thing I told you about not paying and he listened. The baby wasn't his. She got pregnant by some guy from the other state but tried to pin it on my brother because the other guy was in jail and couldn't pay child support. If it is yours and you don't want anything to do with it give up your parental rights. If you want to be part of the child's life be the best father you can be, no one can be perfect. Child support is based on your income and there are laws about leaving you enough money for food, rent, and bills. Just don't be there sometimes and not others. The child will grow up resenting you. My friends mother ped away?

Should German language be offered again in American Public Schools?

i think it should be offered again! i mean, WWII was long long ago and i think everyone that lived during that time are now really old or dead! spanish and french are not that useful for business and if you look at it, german is very similar to english. german is spoken in many countries and its stupid that americans are still holding a nearly 100 year old grudge with germany. with tokio hotel becoming famous in the US and also with the great amount of german heritage in this country, german should be offered again. german would be a useful language if you want to major in a science major like physics. french is rarely used in the states except for in culinary subjects. spanish hasnt got much either except for the fact that there are many spanish speakers, but its unlikely you will meet a spanish speaker who doesnt know english. and whats the harm of a different language taught in schools? i know that english is offered in german schools and its one of the more popular languages to learn in germany. so why, cant we do the same? besides, how can one think germany is still bad today because of a long gone war?

I'm really sorry to hear this. I can't imagine how it must feel like to not be able to share the memories and bond between you and her like you once did. I'm really not sure what to say, but if you really were good friends then I believe she'll take the same liking to you then she did when she first met you. You should put together a photo album full of the memories that were lost and maybe write notes about things you did together and the thoughts you shared as well as her boyfriend who I believe must be in real pain. I don't know if things will go back to the way they were but don't give up, if she's really a friend you cherish dearly hold on tight to the memories you shared and don't let them dissapear they're still alive as long as you hold them in your heart. Try and retrace through the past and try everything you can to try and strike a memory, keep repeating phrases, talk about big events. I've been running a very niche website for medical travel for 8 years. Its receives 1 million impressions per month and around 200 thousand visitors per month. I've tried all sorts of advertising models but they haven't worked very well. It is an international website, with around 50% from the US, 35% from Europe and 15% from the rest of the world - its only available in English at the moment. The website is number 1 for several niche search words on Google and Yahoo and usually on the first page for related key words. The problem is I think, is that it is a niche market - medical companies don't want to advertise because its travel related, travel companies don't want to advertise because its medical related. I've thought about turning ti into a charity - so far its all been my own personal investment - because there are patient education grants available - but I would still want to recoup the investment I have made. Apt. on a Slab - what to use to divert water here? Help!!!!?

We rent and our unit is at the bottom of the hill and water collects all around our slab and even gets on the carpet. What material should be used to divert the water away from the unit? Dirt, peat moss....sod??? Our landlord is not doing much but threw some dirt down and now it's washing away. We also get tons of bugs and worms inside due to this problem.

I am way more afraid of driving when I am tired than intoxicated. I have found myself nodding off while driving a few times in my life and it is real scary. Fresh air, music, slapping yourself don't seem to work. So I do not think the answer is stimulation. Is the secret electrolytes, caffeine, hydration, adrenaline, sugar, adrenaline? Which drops and causes you to p out due to basic exhaustion?

On the plane a prefer to go on, which is jet blue, they have screens in front of you with a bunch of tv channels and a radio tv thing. That keeps me pretty entertained for a while. Also reading magazines, because they can keep your attention longer than books. You can start a hobby now, like knitting or crochetting or making neclases or something and that will keep you entertained for awhile. You can also invest in an mp3 player that you can movies on or a portable dvd player. I always just take sudafed pm to get to sleep. hope this helped!

I'm I raising my children too close?

The relationship they have sounds lovely and heart warming, and for now, at this age, not unhealthy. The sad truth is that the time will probably come when one (probably the eldest) will reach a point where she thinks it's not 'cool' to hang out and love being with your siblings as they get given more freedom to go out with friends by themselves which for the other sibling may be upsetting at first but they will re adjust and the closeness that was there when they were younger won't ever be gone forever. For now I say enjoy it while it lasts and they're still young.

How long does Methadone take for a person to feel it being that the person is taking 20mg for the first time?

Being that this person hasn't taken this med for months and has only been on 1-2 Oxycodone 5mg/ (325mg acetaminophen) every six hours for two months. Now starting Methadone regularly with Oxy for breakthrough pain. Some say Methadone peaks at three hours but other say it works just fine in 20-30 min. I took it over two and a half hours ago, along with on Oxy, and am barely feeling about 5% relief just now.

How do I get a stray cat to go away?

A stray cat (it has no tags or collar) has been coming to my windows and haring my cats for two weeks now. I shooed it off when it was at the first floor window, but now it climbs up a little roof and sits in the second story windows several times a day. Knocking on the closed window and hollering only makes it hiss at me. I'm worried if I open the window and shoo it off it will try to hurt me or dart in the house. My cats are seriously freaking out because of it; one attacked me shortly after the stray started coming around! He's never done anything like that before! I haven't been able to open my windows for fear the cats will go through the screens trying to fight. I don't want to hurt the stray, so no pigeon spikes or anything, but it has to stop coming around! It may be someone's pet, so I am hesitant to have it trapped. It climbs onto a neighbor's roof to get on mine, so I can't block its way up. What can I do to make it not want to come up there?

if your seeing coolant on the ground it could be something as simple as hose leaking on it also,it doesn't always have to be a head gasket,if it is you will notice it leaking from around one of the heads on the vehicle,or from the edge of one,you may also notice water in the oil or lack of pressure in the system,there are many other things on that one that can leak besides a head gasket,there's also freeze plugs that will leak and cause the same thing to happen,you really do need to have a shop look at it most shops wont charge nothing to just check it out,they usually will inspect it for free,that would be your best option right now,at least they will be able to narrow it down as to where the leak is coming from,and that would be what you need to know right now,good luck with it.

I must say, isn't this just cheeky..?

I mean, I can't believe it, can you? My neighbors put up a pinata yesterday, and they had it made in the shape of my head and my wonderful stylish hairdo. It also had my picture on it!! My 2nd mortgage loan is a personal loan through a consulting firm (my brokers personal consulting group). It was for $25,000. I only have a note and no other loan doentation. Cheap DJ Gear, DJ on a Budget?

Well I'm 14 and I'm trying to start DJing at parties and stuff. I've been learning and searching online and been concentrating on either a Numark product, Denon, or Hercules. Infectious mononucleosis?

I'm a 17 year old female and about 2 months ago I went to the doctor for a cough. I was told I had adult croup and was sent home with some cough medicine. About a month later it came back; this time, however, my doctor prescribed me with steroids and told me to continue with my cough medicine. I started feeling a little better until about 2 weeks ago when I had an ache where my spleen is when I breathed in, which I figured may just be an internal bruise from coughing so hard. I was feeling really uncomfortable at the time and of course tired, as most all high schoolers are. Last Thursday, I decided to finally just go to the doctor since my spleen wasn't feeling much better. Since this was my third time there in about 2 months, she decided to do a blood test, which led to my diagnosis of mono. She said I had a little enlargement of my spleen, as well as something with my liver. Over this whole process of me being sick, I haven't really had a fever or sore throat or anything else mono related, except for the spleen and uncomfortable feeling, which just occurred within the past 2 weeks. I have had a few friends who have had mono before, and they missed weeks of school. I guess I'm just a little confused why I'm not feeling as bad as I feel I should with this. Do you think I'm just getting over it or it's just about to start? I don't know, just curious and scared, haha. Thanks for your help!!

Tire width for imporved traction of a robot?

I'm trying to build a robot that drives on the ground and occasionally encounters a wet surface. I need to improve traction to handle the wet surface. My immediate intuition leads me to simply widen the tires, but knowing F = uN, I don't see how surface area of the tire helps any? Alright I've been trying to do as much research as possible. I want backwards compatibility and both of these have it. The 80gb not being as much but from as far as I've seen with all the software updates their really hasn't been many problems. I got the MGS 80gb LE PS3 for like 560 including tax an shipping from walmart, I can sell it on ebay an make my money back and get a 60GB for 350, and I was planning on upgrading to a 320gb ($90) for the 60 right away or the 80 after a little while. but would regardless. And I will buy MGS sometime soon too (possibly online for a better deal). Which one should I go with, I definitely want the backwards compatibility, and are their any other differences between the two. Krispy Kremes are nauseating and it's a disgrace that the FDA allows them to be called "donuts". They're round-- that's about where the comparison ends. They have the texture of a grease saturated sea-sponge and the taste complexity of a mouthful of corn syrup. Actually, it's worse than corn syrup-- some of them actually have a medicinal aftertaste. I don't think most of their imaginary flavors would be recognizable in a blind taste test. Compared to them, Dunkin' Donuts are akin to fine French pastries and homemade cakes. The sight of KK turns my stomach and makes my teeth hurt. I can only imagine their popularity is due to the fact that younger generations have been raised on sugar-coated chemicals and they just don't know any better. Krispy Kremes are a true blight on our culinary culture.

I don't think it anything to worry about especially since it's a male and it's this time of year (mating). his hormones are wild right now. parasites usually get under the scale and will irritate the skin and the beardie will act accordingly. if you are still concerned calm your fears and take him to the vet and get a wellness checkup it can't hurt. also take a picture of your setup (living area etc.) and write down any questions you can think of. let him know your setup temps humidity etc. and see if he can help you to improve in any way. I will bet your beardie is fine. to remove unshed skin around his toes etc. use a warm wet washcloth. along with a bath to loosen the unshed scales. you can remove unshed skin around the toes and under the neck area but avoid areas that should come off by itself easily. sometimes skin will look as if it should come right off but its still attached in one small area you peel it off premature and it can cause sores or infections. remember to keep his humidity between 20 and 30 percent this will help with shedding. here is a basic care sheet. I like it because the pictures of the femoral pores are large and easy to see.

Mixed martial art is a good choice but i suggest wing chun or jeet kune do cuz wing chun and jeet kune do focus on real life fighting so they would train your speed,strength...and of course your fitness level must be good.Jujitsu will involved a lot of grapping and it wont work on someone who is fiter or stronger than u.Taekwando and karate won't be effective for real life fighting but it will increase your fitness level if u train hard.Muay thai is also good.I truly suggest wing chun or jeet kune do.

Most youth have serious problems even if they don't suffer a serious injury.
