Going to the doctor, and I have a few questions?

Just because your friend has a problem which appears to be the same as yours it does not necessarily mean you have the same thing. However, he is right to say you need to see a doctor. Since your problem in in your stomach the doctor can not tell what the problem might be without an exam. Since you have no medical history I would guess it will be a pretty complete exam. Then he will want to do a number of tests, depending on those results there may be other things he will want to explore. Since you are 16, going on 17, I doubt any doctor will do much, if anything, without your parents knowledge and/or permission. In many states about the only medical procedure you can obtain without your parents permission is an abortion. I think you are going to have to swallow your pride and discuss this with your parents. What is wrong could be simple to cure, but it could also be a serious problem for you. So it is best to go to a doctor for an opinion. When you get to the doctors office you can discuss with her your concerns about undressing and being examined. I am sure she has had this come up before and will know how to handle you in the best possible way. Never be afraid to go to the doctor they think nothing of seeing you naked, that is there job, they look at naked people all day every day. They are only concerned with your health and taking care of what might be wrong with you. A good doctor will put you at ease.
