What happens if a stroke if left untreated?

In stroke, an artery or a vein or both get blocked, leading to a certain area of the heart not getting blood at all. The muscle starts dying, and if left untreated, will cause ventricular fibrillation, the most deadly arrhythmia, which will lead to (brain/cardiac) death in 5-20 minutes.
